Poems from the heart

God has given us grace. God has enabled us to feel, to know and to write down our emotions and our thoughts in a manner that brings glory to Him. May Our Poetry Always reflect Calvary

Awestruck

My older sister Rachael wrote this a while ago. I really like it so...enjoy!!!

Awestruck
God of All, you stretched out your hand and formed the sea
You spoke single words, and there was light you said, “Let there be.”
God of All, from darkness you formed the light of day
Spread out the stars, gave them their light, called them by name
You made the sun and the moon, creation sings to you
From before time, you were the light, you were the way

God of All, in hatred we turned our backs away
We hardened our hearts, hid in the dark, hating the day
God of All, your plan was to save us from our sins
Jesus, you came, taking our shame, to free us again
Coming to die on the Cross, Jesus, you came to purchase us
You suffered and died, for us you bled and for us you cried

I ling e awestruck, amazed at what you’ve done
To fall down in worship when I think, “You sent your Son.”
I long to cry “Holy” when my mind reflects on what you do
I long to be awestruck and to stand amazed at you

And when my mind recounts your goodness
May I be awed at your grace
And when I gaze upon creation
May I behold your face
Through every moment, every hour
There’s nothing that I would rather do
Than stand here in praise, awestruck…

Lord I am awestruck, amazed at what you’ve done
I fall down in worship when I think, “You sent your Son.”
Here I cry “Holy” when my mind reflects on what you do
Lord, I am awestruck; and I stand amazed at you
