Here I am

Here I am, once again, I’m torn into pieces. I can’t deny it, can’t pretend, I know You are the one. I can’t understand why You did what You did, and you died so I might live. I don’t deserve to know Your care, I don’t deserve to know your there. I am now full again, and I’ll stay in these wounded hands.

Here I am, at Calvary, giving You all of me. I know that You see, everything I used to be. My heart was ripped by those I lost, now it’s whole ‘cuz of Your cross. My heart can’t grip Your awesome grace that will get me to that place. I won’t ever stop this glorious praise, it will be on ‘till the end of days. When You stop my life on earth, I’ll finally be able to see your worth.

Here I am, on my knees, in front of You at Calvary. My face is bent down to the floor, and I love You all the more. You lift me up so I can know You drank that cup. You hold me now, so I will never fall back down. They may try and bring me down, but I’ll never turn back around. Nothing I may do, can change all that You’ve done, so I rely on You alone.

Here I am, boldly approaching, I come by a drop of blood once spilled. I remember Your Son and how he was killed. He drank Your wrath that I may not, He showed His love right in that spot. His eyes so full of pain and grace, told me I could go to his wondrous place. He said He would never leave me, and in His hand I would always be.

When I saw that ugly spear, I fell down and cried those tears. When I heard that one last cry, I realized that with You I would not die. When they laid You in the earth, it was like we just were born. Before You died, You said You’d rise, when You did, I saw your eyes. When I die, I’ll rise to you, and when I do, I’ll run to You. I’ll dance around Your holy place, looking at your Holy face.

So Here I am, thanking You, thank you for all you’ve done. I look at You, and your like the sun. I pray to you when I need light, and You’ll run to carry me to the light. You bend down and pick us up. So I thank You that you drank that cup. There You are, there you stand, standing by the Holy Lamb. Here I am.
