Poems from the heart

God has given us grace. God has enabled us to feel, to know and to write down our emotions and our thoughts in a manner that brings glory to Him. May Our Poetry Always reflect Calvary

Emmanuelle; God with us

Hey ya'll...I wrote this a little after Emma went off to the hospital on Monday...please pray for her, and I hope you all like it! It's funny, cuz her name is Emmanuelle, which means 'God with us', and when it all happened, I know we all needed to know that God is with us.

Just yesterday I saw, a little girl with her doll.
She smiled when she saw me, happy as could be.
She looked like a little angel, safe from any danger.
I wished she could stay that way all day.

Then she got run over by a van, not even being able to stand.
She cried out in pain, hoping that daddy came.
She wanted to get through it, but there was more to it.
She went off hoping to get well, but only God could tell.

I lift her up to you, help her make it through.
I know that her life is in your hands.
You have already worked out her plans.
Help her to come back one day. Help me see her play.

I don’t understand, but you have a plan.
I felt so alone, but I know now that I’ve grown.
I need you to just hold me, make me safe as can be.
I pray that it won’t take to long, that she’s not away to long.

She is my friend, she is my sister!
I want to hold her, I want to kiss her!
She needs to come home, don’t let her feel all alone.
Let her know that you care, when you call her, you’ll be there.
