Take me away

The fear is right there, making her scared.
The pain is cunning, and she can’t keep running.
The tears will not stop; she knows that she’ll drop.
The words are on her lips, and she cries.

“Take me away, from this pain.
Take me away; help me stand in the rain.
Take this away; help me know that you’ll stay.
Take all my thoughts, and all of those times I fought”

She runs to the car, and starts driving far.
She just needs to think, cuz the pains reached the brink.
She pulls over and stops, climbs out and drops.
She holds her hands up to you and asks to get through.
Then she starts to cry…

“Take me away, from this pain.
Take me away; help me stand in the rain.
Take this away; help me know that you’ll stay.
Take all my thoughts, and all of those times I fought”

The phone starts to ring, and so she gives in.
She hears the voice of her dad, asking “where have you been?”
She asked what was wrong, but already knew.
“Your mom, she just died.” And then he just cried.

“Take me away; hold out your arms.
Take me away, help me be strong.
Take all my fears, take all my tears.
Take my emptiness, and fill me please.”

She sat on the floor, and thanked God some more.
For times that he took her away, all those days.
She knew that she would need him.
She knew that she still sin.
But she also knew that he would be right there!

“You’ll never stop loving me, though I may not see.
You’ll always be my refuge, my place of solitude.
You’ll be my light, all through the night.
You’ll sweep me away on that day, and I’ll hear you say
Well done.”
